DAMA Philadelphia hosts five full day chapter meetings per year, every other month from September through May. There are additional professional development opportunities, such as instructor led training, seminars and certification camps. These special events are priced separately at a discounted rate. Networking functions are held after select meetings and events.

12-12:50 PM The Databricks team will be presenting on modern Lakehouse approach that consolidates data engineering, traditional analytics, data science and machine learning and how it addresses many of the challenges/limitations of traditional DWs and data lakes. And then take a deep into Delta Lake which greatly simplifies data management/engineering as the foundation of the Lakehouse.
- 1:00-1:50 PM Adrian Estala, VP of Starburst will be presenting on Data Mesh, a decentralized, distributed approach to optimize enterprise data management and help organizations get the most out of their data-driven investments.
- 1:50-2:00 PM -- We will close with a DAMA Philadelphia update. Elections are right around the corner! We will be posting our eligible positions shortly. We will also seek input on the format and topic of our May meeting.
We have heard from some of you, as well as from our fellow DAMA chapters, that everyone is busy these days. Therefore, we are trying something slightly different and offering a shorter, more flexible presentation that partially takes place during the lunch hour. In May, we do hope to return to our full-day chapter meeting format, and are on the lookout for a physical location that is centrally accessible. On that note -- if your company has returned to a policy of allowing outside events to be hosted at its location, we'd love to be in touch -- simply reply to this email! Likewise, if you have recently attended an interesting webinar, conference, or other event, and feel the speaker would be a great addition to our program -- let us know as well, as we search for presenters who are local or can easily travel to the Philadelphia region.
